Window Tinting. Done Differently.
At Beauty & Beast, window tinting is approached as part of a complete vehicle protection solution — not simply an add-on.
From selecting the right film through to preparation and installation, our focus is on achieving a refined finish that complements your vehicle, improves everyday comfort and provides meaningful protection against Perth's intense sun and UV exposure.
Protection-Focused
Tinting forms part of our wider approach to vehicle protection, alongside ceramic coatings, Paint Protection Film and interior protection.
Built for Perth Conditions
High-performance automotive window film helps reduce solar heat and UV exposure, creating a more comfortable cabin in Western Australia's demanding climate.
Premium Film Technology
We select premium automotive window films based on performance, optical clarity, appearance and long-term durability — not simply how dark the film looks.
Precision Installation
Proper preparation and professional installation help achieve clean edges, excellent optical clarity and the refined, factory-style appearance a premium vehicle deserves.
Whether you're protecting a brand-new vehicle or upgrading an existing one, our Bayswater studio can help create a cooler, more comfortable and better-protected vehicle.
More Than Just Darker Glass.
Quality automotive window tinting is about considerably more than changing the appearance of your vehicle. The right film can help improve cabin comfort, reduce UV exposure, control glare and protect the interior from Perth's harsh sunlight.
Reduced Solar Heat
High-performance window film helps reduce the amount of solar energy entering the cabin, creating a cooler and more comfortable driving environment.
UV Protection
Premium automotive tint can block the vast majority of harmful ultraviolet radiation, helping protect both vehicle occupants and interior surfaces.
Reduced Glare
Tinting helps reduce harsh sunlight and glare entering through the side and rear glass, improving visual comfort while driving in bright Perth conditions.
Increased Privacy
Carefully selected tint levels can provide greater privacy for passengers and belongings while maintaining a refined, factory-style appearance.
Interior Preservation
Reducing UV and solar exposure can help limit premature fading and deterioration of leather, plastics, trims and other interior materials.

Choosing the Right Window Tint.
The best window tint isn't necessarily the darkest film. It is the film that delivers the right balance of performance, appearance, comfort and visibility for your vehicle.
At Beauty & Beast, we focus on premium automotive films designed to provide meaningful heat and UV protection while maintaining excellent optical clarity and a refined finish.
Film Performance
Modern premium window films are engineered to do considerably more than darken the glass. Depending on the film technology, they can provide high levels of solar energy rejection, UV protection and improved cabin comfort.
Tint Shade & Appearance
Tint shade influences privacy and the appearance of the vehicle, but darkness alone does not determine how well a film performs. Premium film technology can deliver excellent heat rejection without relying solely on very dark glass.
Privacy Glass vs Window Tint
Many modern SUVs and dual-cab vehicles leave the factory with darkened rear privacy glass. While it changes the appearance of the glass, privacy glass should not automatically be assumed to provide the same performance as a premium automotive window film.
Darker doesn't automatically mean better.
Film construction and technology play a major role in heat rejection and overall performance. This is why we recommend selecting window tint based on how the vehicle is used, the desired appearance and the performance you want — rather than simply choosing the darkest available option.
We can discuss the available options and recommend a solution based on your vehicle and priorities.
Performance You Can Actually Feel.
Premium ceramic window film is designed for drivers who want more than a darker appearance.
Advanced film construction can help reduce solar heat entering the cabin while maintaining excellent optical clarity, creating a more comfortable and refined driving environment without relying purely on extremely dark glass.
Engineered for modern vehicles.
Ceramic window film is engineered to manage solar energy while maintaining a clean, neutral appearance through the glass. For many vehicle owners, this creates a better balance between heat reduction, everyday visibility, privacy and appearance.
Film performance depends on its construction and specification, which is why we focus on selecting the right product for the vehicle rather than simply choosing based on darkness.
Solar Heat Management
Quality film can help reduce the solar energy entering through vehicle glass, helping the cabin feel more comfortable during Perth's warmer months.
Optical Clarity
Premium film should deliver a clean view through the glass, helping maintain visibility and reducing the hazy or reflective appearance associated with lower-quality films.
UV Protection
Automotive window film can provide a valuable additional layer of UV protection for occupants while also helping reduce exposure to interior trims and upholstery.
Refined Appearance
The right film should complement the design of the vehicle, creating a consistent and sophisticated finish rather than looking excessively dark or aftermarket.
We prefer to recommend window film based on real-world performance, vehicle type and the result you want — rather than locking every customer into a single tint shade or specification.
Understanding Window Tint VLT.
When talking about automotive window tint, the percentage refers to Visible Light Transmission — commonly known as VLT.
VLT measures how much visible light passes through the combination of the vehicle glass and window film. A lower VLT percentage means a darker result.
35% VLT
In Western Australia, glazing forward of the B-pillar must maintain at least 35% visible light transmission.
20% VLT
Passenger vehicle windows behind the B-pillar may generally be tinted to 20% VLT where compliant external rear-view mirrors are fitted.
Glare Strip
Tint film cannot generally be applied across the main windscreen. A compliant tinted band may be installed across the upper section where permitted.
The film percentage isn't always the final VLT.
Vehicle glass itself already reduces some visible light. When window film is applied, the final VLT is determined by the combined result of the glass and the film — not simply the percentage printed on the film specification.
This is especially important on vehicles fitted with factory privacy glass, where the existing rear glass may already be significantly darker than the front windows.
Already dark doesn't necessarily mean already protected.
Many SUVs and dual-cab vehicles leave the factory with dark rear privacy glass. Its primary purpose is often appearance and privacy, so additional window film may still be considered where improved solar or UV performance is desired.
We consider the existing glass, desired appearance and applicable WA requirements before recommending the most appropriate window tinting solution for your vehicle.
Discuss Your Vehicle →Window tint requirements can vary according to the vehicle, glazing location and any applicable exemption. We recommend maintaining compliance with current Western Australian vehicle standards when selecting window film.

Window Tinting Questions, Answered.
Choosing the right window tint can raise plenty of questions — particularly around tint darkness, privacy glass, heat rejection, installation and Western Australian requirements.
Below we've answered some of the most common questions we receive from vehicle owners considering professional automotive window tinting in Perth.
01 What is the legal window tint limit in Western Australia?
For most passenger vehicles in Western Australia, glazing forward of the B-pillar must maintain at least 35% Visible Light Transmission (VLT). Windows behind the B-pillar may generally be darker, down to 20% VLT where the applicable vehicle requirements are satisfied.
The legal requirement applies to the combined result of the existing glass and the film, not simply the percentage specification of the film itself.
02 Is 20% tint darker than 35% tint?
Yes. A lower VLT percentage means less visible light passes through the glass, so 20% VLT appears darker than 35% VLT.
Tint darkness and film performance are not the same thing, however. A premium film can provide excellent heat and UV protection without relying purely on very dark glass.
03 What is the difference between ceramic tint and standard window tint?
Premium ceramic window films are designed to provide strong solar performance while maintaining excellent optical clarity and a refined appearance.
Film construction varies between products, which is why we focus on overall performance, clarity, durability and suitability for the vehicle rather than simply choosing a film based on how dark it appears.
04 Does factory privacy glass provide the same protection as window tint?
Not necessarily. Factory privacy glass is commonly found on the rear windows of SUVs, four-wheel drives and dual-cab vehicles and provides a darker appearance and additional privacy.
It should not automatically be assumed to provide the same solar or UV performance as a premium automotive window film. Additional film can sometimes be considered where improved performance is desired, subject to the final VLT and applicable vehicle requirements.
05 Can you tint over factory privacy glass?
In many vehicles, additional film can be applied to factory privacy glass to improve solar and UV performance or create a more consistent appearance.
The existing glass must be considered when selecting the film because the final VLT is determined by the combined glass and film. We can assess the vehicle and recommend an appropriate solution.
06 Can the front windscreen be tinted?
Tint film cannot generally be applied across the main viewing area of the windscreen. A compliant tinted glare strip may, however, be fitted across the upper section of the windscreen where permitted.
If you are interested in a windscreen glare strip, we can discuss the appropriate size and placement for your vehicle.
07 How long does automotive window tinting take?
Installation time depends on the vehicle, the amount of glass being tinted, existing film removal and any additional protection services being completed at the same time.
When we provide your quote or booking options, we will also advise the expected vehicle drop-off and collection requirements.
08 Will there be bubbles or moisture after the tint is installed?
Automotive window film is installed using a wet application process, so some moisture, light haziness or small water pockets can be visible immediately after installation.
These normally reduce as the film dries and cures. Drying time varies with weather, temperature, film and vehicle conditions. We will provide aftercare guidance when the vehicle is collected.
09 When can I lower the windows after tinting?
The film needs time to begin bonding and drying before the windows are regularly operated. We recommend following the specific aftercare instructions provided when your vehicle is collected.
This helps avoid unnecessary movement or disturbance around the upper edge of freshly installed film.
10 How should I clean tinted windows?
Once the film has cured, tinted glass can be maintained using a suitable window cleaner and clean, soft microfibre towels.
Avoid abrasive cleaning tools or aggressive chemicals that may damage or mark the film. We can provide suitable aftercare recommendations following installation.
11 Does your automotive window tint come with a warranty?
The premium window films we offer are supported by manufacturer warranty coverage, with the specific warranty depending on the film selected.
We will explain the applicable warranty and care requirements as part of your quote so you know exactly what is covered.
12 Can I combine window tinting with ceramic coating or PPF?
Absolutely. Beauty & Beast specialises in complete vehicle protection, so window tinting can be combined with Paint Protection Film, ceramic coating and interior protection.
This is particularly popular with new vehicles, allowing multiple areas of the vehicle to be protected during the same visit to our Bayswater studio.
